Problem FS700, any suggestions before I send it back?

Does anyone know how to completely reset their FS700 to the factory settings? I put the paper clip in the Reset hole, but it only did a partial reset. I'm hoping to reset the camera kind of like how it was when I got it back from Sony Service for the hardware / firmware upgrade. All settings were zapped.

The reason I'm asking is you probably saw my post last week where I thought I had an issue with my new 7Q. Well, I'm pretty certain it's my FS700 now. I mailed back the 7Q and Convergent tested the hell out of it on two different FS700s and it ran perfectly, no problems at all. I'm hoping maybe if I can completely reset the camera, it might zapped whatever was bad.

Convergent mailed it back to me with a new Convergent BNC cable and I was hoping that the cable would make a difference. Convergent checked all my camera / RAW output settings and said it was all correct. I start the 7Q and it cannot go more than 5 minutes with an error message or a crash. So yeah, I think my camera has gone bad, probably the RAW output.

I'm bringing it to Sony Service LA next Wednesday, but BEFORE I GO IS THERE ANYTHING else you guys can suggest that I do?

I'm hoping to check it against another FS700 with the 4K upgrade installed. So if anyone in Los Angeles can help a brother out and possibly meet up with me and compare cameras, I would be so grateful.

I talked to the tech at Sony Service LA (who is super helpful and knows his stuff), and he says it might be the Record Board needs to be replaced. Has anyone had any issues with the record board before? Recording to internal SDHC works perfect and it outputs to Monitor perfectly, it just cannot record to the 7Q.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Gene

BTW, Convergent was super helpful.

Gene,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Please keep us posted on what the problem is. I'm thinking of getting an Odyssey 7Q but right now I think it is bleeding edge and a good idea to wait a few months until most of the problems are ironed out. At least your internal recording works. Good luck with the 7Q!

Hey Rejdmast, I think you'll be fine if you got a 7Q. I talked to several dealers and according to them nobody has had a problem yet with the 7Q. Plus, CD tested my 7Q and it ran fine on two other cameras, so it's probably my camera. Plus, CD has great service so they got your back.
