HPX250: Problem downloading SD card to HD in 250 USB host mode

I'm on the road with my 250 and 1 64GB "F" card and 1 64GB "SD" card in adapter. I'm trying to download the cards to an external drive with the camera in USB Host mode. Camera will let me DL the "F" card slot but the "SD" slot is ghosted. I forgot to test this function before leaving on the trip. Is this a restriction or a bug? Any ideas?

The AG-MSU10 will not let you offload Micro P2 cards. I'm not at all surprised that the USB Host mode on the HPX-250 is behaving the same. Paying only half the the price (Micro P2) of P2 card has operational limitations. I was and still not too excited to go all Micro P2. It's just not suitable for serious, heavy volume P2 broadcast production. There's no free lunch here at all. Micro P2 is geared toward a different segment of the production spectrum. Probably the HPX-250 successor with dual P2 & Micro P2 slots will have no USB HOST copy limitation.

I've asked on the COW and searched the web to no avail to get info on this issue. I'm ready to call Panasonic but even info for that is hard to find on Panny's site. Nothing on the site claims to cover Oklahoma so I'm guessing Panny NJ ((201) 348-7975, (201) 392-4081) numbers may be my best avenue. I really need an answer to this and if the MicroP2 card is going to be treated differently by the camera's software I need to sell it and pick up another original P2 card.

Does Jan or any other Panasonic folk still monitor these threads?

FYI, I just pull it from the camera and use a standard SD card reader (Lexar USB3 SD/CF reader in my case).
Avid recognizes it as P2 card format and Avid AMA works fine.

Thanks, Terry,

I still need a word about camera-based downloading of microP2 cards. I don't want to have to lug around a PC just to offload a card when the camera should be able to do it.

Update: According to Panasonic (who managed to find ONE product page which mentioned it) that Host Mode offloading of 64GB microP2 cards is not supported - but it IS supported for the 32GB version! The support guy was trying to find the reason for this but I have not heard back from him. Go figure.
