Problem doing 30p tp 24p

hey u guys.
i just got my 5d some days ago and tried the workflow with cinema tools and compressor doing native 24p.
but there is a problem in compressor doing the change of speed after conforming in cinema tools to 24p.
i just made a preset in compressor but when i want to change the speed and click submit, the final file is just the same speed like the conformed one with cinema tools.
i think i didn't get the point using compressor the right way.
any help?
 
do not use cinema tools first.
only use cinema tools if you want to do a subtle slowmo effect of playing 30p at 24p.

so if you're just using compressor, there are three ways of converting 30p-24p

1.frame skipping
2.basic frame blending
3.creating new frames

frame skipping looks stuttery and is the default if you don't change the settings. this is also what your footage will look like if you just drop 30p into a 24p timeline.

frame blending is ok. it's fine for 90% of work. it just kind of overlays 2 frames together when it needs to. but on some footage you may not like the effect.

creating new frames. it takes for ever to render and gives the best effect. BUT it only works well on shots with not a lot of movement.
 
I just conform all my footage to 23.976 and then render @ 24fps using After Effects. It's long and tedius, but I'm only editing commercials so it works very well.
