problem digitizing audio?

Got a weird problem. I've been shooting for a network on my DVX. After i handed them my tapes one of my producers told me that the audio wasn't coming out (which i know it was there because i logged the tapes at the end of each day). Long story short, the audio wasn't capturing right on their high end deck, but then worked fine when captured with a DVX (not even the same camera, just any DVX).

Anyway, my camera has a TON of hours, but i have been cleaning the heads. I'm thinking its time to send it out for a full cleaning and look over.

Any ideas on how to fix this, or if it can be fixed? I have another DVX i can shoot on until i figure out the issue, but they are one of my main clients so i gotta keep them happy.

Thanks!

what are they downloading the video into avid? does the audio sound like as if its getting skrubbed or shuttling thru the clip? when i download into my avid i get that alot, but i just redo it and that usually does this trick. i cant figure out why it does this either?

yea... thats the problem and its going into avid. works fine off the cam but not off their deck. thats interesting that you had the same problem.

it happens alot to me. what i do is i do my ins and outs as if im doing a batch record but instead i do a crash record from in to out. i can usually download a big chunk of video and audio and when it starts to mess up i just stop the recording back track to where it messed up find a good spot and make that my new intry and keep the same out and redo it. sorry this happens to you. i thought it was me or my equipment.

umm, i'll mention that the next time i talk to the editor. I think its time to call up able-cine and see what they say. Thanks, glad to know its not just my camera.
