I have a query for anyone who would be familiar with the canonXF300. I had intended convert the .mxf files to apple prores proxy in order to edit with FCP however I cant seem to get compressor to recognise the raw .mxf file format at all in order to convert them. In fact I haven't managed to find any software that will recognise it aside from VLC player for playback. This may be something very basic I'm just not understanding as I've never worked with this format before so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your help guys, turns out I made a stupid basic mistake. I had accidently renamed a sub folder in the transfer and it was as simple as nothing recognised them unless they were the identical native folder names given by the camera. Thankfully my backup was unaltered.
