Problem Capturing Video with DVX

Hello all,

I am a proud user of the DVX100a. Unfortunately, I've had a lot of problems with it. I've just received it back from the warranty company after it's 4th repair (none of which were due to mis-use of the camera on my part). Since I've recieved it, when I dump footage from the camera to my computer, it dumps everything in one clip instead of individual clips. I know it has to be a setting on the camera because I've changed nothing in my editing software. My former film professor has had the same problem with his DVX and can't find a solution either. I've looked in the manual but can't seem to find anything regarding this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jarrod

Dear Jarrod:

I recently purchased a DVX 100B and have had no problems...30 hours so far of use. The batch capture method in my Adobe Premiere Pro is working beautifully...NOT even a dropped frame. I wonder if you need more instruction? (The media area must be highlighted and all the logged clips must be selected before you choose batch capture from the FILE ...) Keep the faith...YOU HAVE the best camera...

I seriously doubt such a setting exists in the DVX and believe that it has more to do with your capturing application.

What app are you using?

There has to be an option somewhere in your capture app to "enable scene detection". Did you check?

you have to set the date & time

you have to set the date & time

Hi Jarrod! you have to set the date & hour from your camera. Maybe you
have not set any date/time data and scene detect of Premier needs that data to proced. Sory for my limited english Im from Argentina
I hope you can resolve your problem,
