Problem capturing footage

I captured footage into vegas video shot 24 mode on xl 2 and the footage is jumpy is there anyway to fix the footage?

Is the original footage jumpy or only after capture?
If after capture then check in the Vegas area for correct setup.
If it's in the original footage is the hand held motion too much or is there a technical problem?
You can try stabilizing using additional software which will tend to pull out camera bumps but requires a blowup of your footage.

Make sure ALLOW PULLDOWN REMOVAL WHEN OPENING DV 24P is selected in

Options > Preferences

Also, try restarting your computer and then recapture.
