So the sad reality is i can't ever see myself really using the dvx again, it's really starting to show its age now, not used it on a paid job in years, but for some reason i can't seem to let go of it... too much sentimental value.
Anyway a couple of weeks ago i concocted a little BMX film project with the local skatepark, however i wanted to shoot in a 4.3 aspect ratio, as it sometimes suits the subject matter better than 16.9 as you end up framing for height rather than width most of the time, and what better camera to shoot 4.3 with then the venerable old DVX!
I'm pretty stoked with the results, it definitely looks like it came out of an older camera, but there's just some quality about the dvx footage that i still love. Anyway this video is probably the final nail in the coffin for my DVX, and the next one in this series will be shot in nice modern 16.9 HD, but cheers DVX it's been a good few years!
