ProAim FF V2 + Rod Support or Rail System

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping you guys know this a little better than I do. I've decided that using an FF is pretty much a necessity with the way/stuff I shoot. I'll also be using the Liliput 7" LCD monitor for my monitoring solution:

Here's what I want to do and because I'm new to rails systems, I'd appreciate it if you guys could tell me if it would work or not:

I have a Zacuto Rapid Fire (it uses a 394 quick release) and a Manfrotto 701HDV head. Annoying to have to change all the time between the two. I was wondering if I purchased this:

Would I be able to mount the base onto the plate of my 701HDV head so that I would only be using the 394 quick release plate (to switch from Rapid Fire to tripod)?

Also I want to be able to use it with rails/rod support. Now I've narrowed it down to these two packages:

What's the difference? I honestly can't tell. I want to be able to use the above scenario, if that's possible with the 394 quick release plate to snap the whole rod support on and off. Also I'm going to be doing some more research on my own, but if anyone can tell me what they're using to mount their monitors to the rails, that would be great.

43 responses and no has any idea? Hm, maybe not as many people over here buy the ProAim stuff. Okay, well forget which rod support to get...in general, does a rod/rails system allow me to use the 394 quick release plate in the way I was thinking of using it?
