F5: Pro Res & DnxHD announced for the F's!

I have no idea the true bit-depth to be honest, I was always under the impression that most 10-bit HDMI over is 8-bit padded.

Sony's website does say this about 4k however:
The HDMI® v1.4a output supports real-time 4K (4:2:0, 8 bits, up to 30p).

but no word about regular HD or 2k.

UPDATE:

Sounds like ProRes will be HD/2K max resolution and couldn't catch the color sampling but Sony did say not all ProRes flavours will be available. Sounded like he said "422" at some point but he was very hard to understand..

For 4K Sony is sticking to its XAVC codec.

So... Whats new from Canon? Not a lot. I wonder if the C range will have ProRes added as a hardware upgrade in the future.

I didn't hear 422, but I heard HD and 2K. Better than nothing, but how much is it going to cost? It has to be 4444 flavour.

It's good to hear that these companies are fighting it out over existing product, rather than having to buy new ones

Any word yet on when Sony is releasing the hardware upgrade (card) to dealers for the F5 to add ProRes and DnXHD as recording options? Glad I can at least record ProRes 4:2:2 onto my Odyssey 7Q as a backup until it is.
