"Private" file name???

Seems like the file names changed while using this camera. Now have a file named "Private" from which I can't move or delete files, though I can open them. Putting the file on a drive makes the drive invisible to fcpx which thinks it's a camera then.

I read there may be a quick work around for this. Rename the directory PRIVATE instead of private. You might have to rename a couple other sub-directories too. Otherwise I know you have to be careful how you import with FCPX, but I know you are not supposed to be copying to the harddrive then importing. There are some lengthy discussions online about the whole FCPX import settings and in fact some great tutorials on file management for FCPX, because it can really be a hard drive filler.

I am trying to figure out a nice workflow for importing from several AF100a's after a wedding. With the Canon 5Ds it was a simple matter of importing all the cards onto a hard drive and assigning a name to each card...such as CAM1 Ceremony, Cam 2 Ceremony etc. So I could have a whole bunch of camera names and FCP X would recognize the folder names and assign each cam in its own subfolder under the name of the wedding. But with AVCHD, I can't seem to do this. If I allow FCP X to import directly from the card I just get clip 1, clip 2, clip 3 etc and then when I look at them in the Event view, I don;t even see clip one, clip two. I just see a bunch of dates, and running times. Not helpful at all. So now I am trying out ClipWrap. It seems to work pretty well. Offered me a choice of either importing as H264 mov files without transcoding or transcoding to the different types of Pro Res. I chose Pro Res LT and it imported a single 32GB file, again with bunch of numbers, but at least I have a pro res file ready to edit and get this...to my eye the quality of the transcode looks far better than when FCP does it. Plus I can just rename the file and make a little file structure before importing a Canon 5D like structure into FCP without doing another transcode and with automatic labeling in the Event viewer the way I want it.
