Print to Video using HVX in FCP

Does anyone know how to Print to Video in Final Cut (6) using the HVX200? I just need to print a standard def, 4:3 29.97 sequence, and put it on a Mini DV tape. I can get as far as FCP recognizing the camera... the HVX LCD displays the sequence from FCP.

I've fooled around with the A/V setting enough to get to the point where the option (which is sometimes grayed-out) "Automatically Start Recording" IS selectable. I then a message printing to tape will not work... suggesting that the tape may be write-protected (it isn't) or that the deck may be in local mode (?)

I've tried the other method, of pressing record on the HVX, then starting the print, in the only mode that makes sense on the camera, pressing the record button (any of them) does nothing.

I realize the HVX was not made to do stuff like this, but there has to be an easy answer to this. Any help appreciated.

Jon,

Did you ever solve this problem? And why wouldn't the HVX be made to do this? It's a Mini DV camera, just like any other. I'm having this exact same problem now. It's like, I can get the sequence to show up when the camera is in VTR mode (and going from Firewire out of my computer into the camera) , but I can't RECORD anything. And when I switch to Camera mode, all I get is what comes through the lense.
