I'm wondering why a 1080i recording back to P2 card is showing 30P in the viewfinder when I play it back. Everything else is set at 1080i and the clip indicates it's 1080i when just looking at the thumbnail. But when I play it, 30P is displayed in the lower left part of the window?

Any ideas? is the clip actually going to be OK and not be 30P??

Also, can't find anything in the 200/170 book about recording back to P2 on the 170... had to stumble onto the fact that you can only use the remote control to actually record back to P2 card from FCP, versus the 200 where you hit record and play simultaneously - am I just missing this section in the book??

I'm pretty sure I put that part in the book; you access it by pressing the OIS and Zebra buttons together. The HVX200 had dedicated buttons for it, but the 170 doesn't, so it dual-purposes those two buttons.

If your HPX170 is set to 1080/60i recording format in the menus, then what gets recorded will be 1080/60i.

OK, I do see that now on the side of the camera.. REC with two lines pointing to the Zebra and OIS, thanks. It must be in the book then, but I couldn't find it from a table of contents or index.

I did import a test clip back to FCP and everything indicates 1080i properly, but the 30P is displayed only while it is playing, and threw me for a loop.
