This is a lovely piece of glass. I've owned a Kowa 8Z, a Prominar 16D, two Iscoramas, an Iscomorphot 8/1.5x and a Rexervision 8/1.5x and this is one of the best of them.
It needs mounting with a lens clamp.
There is no front filter thread, but I include a sanded down step up ring that you can glue on the front.
It focuses to 5ft.
Vignetting begins to appear at 85mm on full frame, and at 50mm on APS-C... but you can shoot at those focal lengths wide open with minimal vignetting.
It comes with a nice hard case.
This video was shot at 1600x1200 Magic Lantern RAW between f5.6 and f2 at 85mm on a Canon 5D3. The different crops that ML RAW offers are perfect for a 2x anamorphic IMO as you can avoid the vignetted edges at closed apertures. I only unsqueezed this by about 1.6x despite the lense's 2x rating:
