not bad really...going from the other thread its about the same conversion as the xl-h1....

at least now i have a figure to work towards

okay in light of the recent price drop for the 8gb cards i've contacted videoguys about the price of their HVX & 2 8gb card package and whether they would address the price drop.

in theory an undiscounted one with no markup should be around AU$12,600, but since they seem to put an average discount of $1000 on them it could be as low as $11,600.....in theory of course......

but....i was just thinking....

4gb(US) = $650
4gb(AU) = $1200

using same rate of conversion:

8gb(US old) = $2200
8gb(AU unknown) = $4070 ?

8gb(US new) = $1400
8gb(AU new) = $2590 ?

so in theory the new price for 2 would be $5180, which is actually $80 more than what is being charged now....lol....

so either we'll never know.....or we're gunna get one hell of a price drop.....or it will never change...

i'll let ya's know if i hear back from them

just had a quick look in google to try and find other prices for the hvx200e + 2 8gb for comparison

here they are in australian dollars

UK - $19,405 (ouch)
Euro - $16,042 (ouch also)
Sweden - $11,108
Hungary - $11,502
Russia - $9,874 (i think that's camera only)

so it looks as though whether they lower prices or not we aren't getting too bad a deal

not bad pricing for us here in Oz....

But i'm still pissed about the lack of NTSC capabilities on our PAL model....

just got a reply back from videoguys.com.au

"Thanks for letting me know, We have not heard anything yet form Panasonic on
this. Camera will not be available for a few months anyhow, so I assume
there will be corrections made."
