Pretty useful tutorial for FS700's SLOG2 footage

Hey,

I am no pro colorist, and I always struggle with proper grading. Slowly learning with Resolve and I typically trying to find some info from more experienced people. I have just seen this tutorial and I think this one is great. Maybe it will be useful for someone else:

This is interesting and I knew something was a bit off on some of my shots that I colour corrected. I've had highlights blow out too easily when I know the information is there using film convert. Specific example anyone can come across: I was shooting a margarita being made and there was ice being dumped into a big glass in slow motion. In Slog2 when looking at the footage it was perfectly exposed and you could see through the ice cubes to some degree. You could at least tell they were translucent - but when I did the conversion, even after bringing down the 'curve' which affects contrast, the ice cubes were white, no detail or sign that they were translucent. So I think doing a manual colour correction would have saved those details, but applying some kind of LUT or using software like film convert doesn't take into account the unique curve of the highlights shooting slog2 on the fs700 + OQ. Even though that software has the source as being selectable, even paired w/ the 7Q, it just doesn't handle certain conditions properly. Overall it's great, but certain things like that were a bit upsetting.

Grading after LUT being applied often leads for clipping (they say:)).

Even though this is Resolve tutorial again, it explain very well what can cause clipping and how to avoid it.
