Wow! My brain is completely bent right now. I've read about 20 threads and I still don't know what exactly I'm supposed to do. I shot on the dvx100a in 24pA with squeeze on. I captured with 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal and sequence set to anamorphic. Now I have to render every time I put something in the timeline and then it's still too small to fit so I have to choose scale to sequence...this can't be right. I have to render every time I make a move and it takes forever and then re-scale at the end? Could someone hold my hand? Where my capture settings right? Anyone?

Did you set your easy setup to pulldown removal?? (FCP menu> easy setup> 24p pulldown removal)

Check your timeline and clips in the bin, and see what frame rate they're at. (control click on the clip in the bin> item properties> format)

If you're having to render, something is not set up right.
