hi there,
I do not use the dvx100A that much but when I use it and am going over some tape or capturing I have the bad habbit of pressing the fast forward once at the end of the footage. sometimes it happens that between a cut and another there is a bit that is not time coded or something like that that and the tape does not automatically go to the next bit of footage so i tend to press ff just to be sure. I should get a note of at least how much footage i have i know, meanwhile am I harming the camcorder while i force it to do ff while there is no more footage? when i do this ff the motor of the tape is heard working normally as if it was going over normal footage in ff mode, something strange is that although there is no footage left the number of minutes of free tape still reduces one minute after another, how come if there is no footage to go through? I assume that the camcorder would not know that it has reached the tape end.
