prepare to wet yourself, most amazing thing ever

I don't know about the "no computer generation involved" part......
I've yet to see tires that can roll uphill from a standing start.

When you put weights in them on one side making them in balanced as they did, tire certainly can.

At first glance I could have sworn it was CG. Alas, accroding to some articles it states it is real as a seal. The one element that stuck out like a sore thumb is the exhaust pipe; which sold me on it being CGI but an article axplains this is the only element that is CGI and it is used for joining the two halves together (shot in two segments?).

Still; not the best image to juge from on that page but there are a few other elements that look CG.

THe little rubber ball hitting the tire isn't too convincing. But I don't know; I wasn't there. Maybe it's so cool we automatically doubt it?

I remember when i saw it for the first time long, long ago, i did wet myself.

I thinks is the best i´ve ever seen, no other ad equals it IMHO. But i´m that kind of geek that everytime somebody tries to beat records with domino things, i watch it.

I know it´s lot of money, but that doesn´t take the originality and the efford to get this crazyness together.

It´s Cameron´s Titanic of Ads.

As a project and an engineering feat, it is pretty spectacular but as far as car ads go, it's kind of tedious and hum-drum. I saw this a long time ago when it first made its rounds but it did not inspire me at all to buy a Honda Accord which is the real point here, right? It does reinforce the fact that car makers make huge profits and have almost unlimited budgets when it comes to advertising and promotions.

Yeah but six million. That is a little to pricey for one commercial ad.
As the snopes article stated - the $6mil was total spent on the ad campaign. Not production of the commercial. When you consider what a TWO minute commercial cost on network TV, the spot probably only cost a couple hundred thousand to produce.

As advertising goes it is a COMPLETELY USELESS AD. When advertising becomes art it is no longer advertising. Biggest problem in the industry right now, everyone wants awards and recognition rather than trying to sell a product or maintain a brand.

In the end who cares if it's CGI or not, aside from the guys who did it? It is certainly a cool feat, but the audience doesn't really care if there's a man behind the curtain.

No computers.....yeah right. Just like *Blair Witch* was marketed as *REAL*....it's just marketing. Even if there was one teeny tiny little CG shot....then guess what......COMPUTERS were involved. Nice try Honda!!

Cool Commerical though :)

It is very cool. However, as an effective ad, I don't know...

When I think great ads, Apple's "1984" and the "Daisy" ad for Lyndon Johnson's 1964 re-election campaign had, IMO, much more impact.
