Hi everyone, I'm a new member here. this site is amazing! I'm so glad I found this place :)
Anyways, I recently bought my DVX100A. I have a PC for now, so I do not have FCP. Is Premiere Pro compatable with the 24Pa mode?
do you guys advice me to use another editing software compatable with PC?
thanx in advance

Re: Premiere Pro??

The new version of premiere pro (1.5) is compatable with 24Pa footage, however, it seems to no longer be compatable with 24pN footage. If you read on the Premeire useres forum on this site, it seems that many people are having problems with this. And given Adobe's track record with Premiere lately, it is unlikely that it will be fixed until the next version of Premiere. I you want full compatability with your dvx, you have 2 choices. Avid and Vegas. I personally use vegas and absolutely love it. I used to us Premiere, but lack of support, among other problems, lead me to vegas, which has truely been a wonderful experience. Of coarse, others may tell you that premiere is better, it is all a matter of personal preference, but if you want full support for your camera, Premiere just won't hack it. . . yet.

Re: Premiere Pro??

thanx, I will download Vegas and try to work with.
Meanwhile, I tried editing with Premiere Pro, it captures the footage fine, but when I try to export (after editing, and applying effects) I get these interlaced frames for some reason... Is there something I need to do to not get those interlaced frames?

Re: Premiere Pro??

I use Premier Pro 1.5 and love it. The 24p Advanced support works great. However, as scharky has pointed out, there are problems with 24p Normal. (Check out the Premiere formum on this site for full details.) But since I'm primarily a 24p Advanced user, I love it.
