GH3 Premiere cs6

I am upgrading to cs6 bc I bought he gh3 and my previous version of premiere (cs3) no longer is up to date. I was wondering if any of you use cs6? If so, is there a project preset that works well with the mov files at 60 fps? What preset settings in cs6 have you found to work well with gh3 footage?

I use the Digital SLR settings and just change the framerate, I think the defaults are 24,25 & 30, though you can select one of those, then select the Settings tab, then select the desired frame rate i.e. 60 from the Timebase drop down, you can then select Save Preset so you have this for future.

CS6 then saves this new preset in the Custom folder.

Likewise a PAL user like myself can follow the same process just choosing 50 from the Timebase drop down menu.

Hi

Follow Jim's advice above. I don't have a GH3 but letting Premiere CS6 decide works in the vast majority of cases. Well enough that I believe it is the go to advice.

You will love Premiere CS6 and I hear great things about the GH3 - enjoy.

If anyone is using CS6 on a Mac, can you please PM me? I was hoping to get an idea on basic workflow setup using my MacBook Pro, External Harddrive, and the GH3 files. Thanks! I am coming from a PC, CS3, and HDV, so I am pretty much a newbie!!!!

I've used CS5.5 and CS 6 with a GH2. And I'm platform agnostic (both Mac and PC). Generally, Jim's advice above is true of all versions and in all scenarios. Shouldn't be all that different from CS3 if I recall correctly. And it really doesn't matter if you pick Mac or PC for this either. Premiere is Premiere, and that's the beauty of it!

Can anyone help me? I have trying to create a custom preset using 1080p 60fps. I've tried both 60fps and 59.94. Premiere keeps saying the settings dont match when I drop the clips in the timeline. Can anyone send me the specs on their presets? I don't mind Adobe fixing it, but I would like to have one to load each time!

Jim's method works and I just tried it with some 1080/60p GH3 footage. Having said that, I usually use the DSLR 24P settings since that'll be intended target media and I just drop the footage on the 24P timeline and it works out just fine.

Have you tried dragging the clip on to the little New sequence icon on the bottom of the window library? That should create a sequence with settings based on the clip's properties. Don't have a GH3 or I'd verify that this will work correctly with a 1080 60p clip. Certainly works with all other clips.

Thanks for the feedback. That is exactly what I am doing. The problem is that after selected the DSLR project settings that should match the GH3, Premiere still wants to change them when I drag them to the sequence. I don't mind doing this, but I wish I could figure out what Premiere is actually changing so that I can create a custom preset that doesnt need modification.

Yeah, Jim and I are doing the same thing in different ways. Unless I'm misunderstanding (don't think I am, but maybe) I'd just suggest that you don't really need to create a preset. Just select any preset when you start a new project and then dump it. Then do what either Jim or I have suggested and you'll have your sequence. Maybe it's nice to have a preset, but it really isn't needed.

Okay, that works. Just hoping to avoid that correction for each project :)
BTW...I have searched all over the web for this. Can someone please answer this:
Open up Encore. Select the Rose Menu HD main menu screen. On the menu, there is a transparent white box with an arrow.
What is that box/arrow for? How can you change/manipulate it?
