It has already been discussed how Premiere CS5 is optimized for dslr formats and uses the Mercury Engine to optimize Cuda enabled video card to really breeze through footage. Unfortunately only a handful of more expensive Cuda enabled Nvidia cards have been approved.
I stumbled across this work around the other day that allows Nvidia cards with Cuda to be recognized and used in Premiere. This has probably already been discussed, but in case it hasn't one can speed up there editing if they can get their card to work with the Mercury Engine.
