premiere cs3 + dvx100b size help

Hello all!

I am new to dvxuser and i am really happy that there is a community around to help out.

I am using adobe premiere pro cs3 as my editor and a panasonic dvx100b as my camera.

I have noticed that when you capture miniDV they come out huge (40 mins of footage is equal to approx 8 gig).

YIKES!

plus... when I export (good quality), the files are very large as well.

the question I ask is:

what are my best options for dvd quality export/compression keeping file size low and video quality up with premiere pro cs3?

thank you for you time, it is high appreciated!

well when you capture the files will always be large. When you export you must be exporting an uncompressed avi. Try a quicktime mov, or H.264 codec and the file size will stay small. For DVD export using MPEG-2 DVD and burn with that.
