This is a short film I shot for my friend, Devesh Verma, amazing Director. Shot using the DVX 100A, M2 Adapter, and Canon FD lens's. We didn't have much of a light kit, and very unfortunately our actors were in shadow (my fault) so the background is completely blown out on many of the shots. This is my first short film using this adapter, with a very very small crew. I now know not to shoot over blown backgrounds for the future :-D Let me know what you guys think!

looks great! love the way you shot it. acting is pretty good too, which i hard to find in low budget shorts. The film looks like it cost a lot to produce you pulled it off nicely. What size lenses did you use?? 50mm? 28mm?

very VERY engaging! I was in it the whole time, so you did your job very well my friend :)

Your main actor is fantastic, very invested, the darker of the two was a good contrast but sometimes i felt was not as real as the other.

Great work!

This was shot from about 9am till 3pm on one VERY hot saturday afternoon. I got burnt so bad, I was peeling months later :-/ . And I used a variety of lenses. 50mm, 28mm, and a zoom lens from 35-80mm or something like that. Thanks for your kind words. Since this film (which was done last summer) I have acquired an HVX 200. I'm working with the same director and should have a new film out in the next month or two in HD :-D. Also I believe the budget was a couple hundred dollars, not including the cost of equipment I already own. Also, if you have any kind of dolly shots, make sure you have someone else move the dolly for you while you pan/tilt. I was doing everything myself at once (sometimes pulling focus as well) and it was extremely difficult. Also for the crane shots we used a Bogen 503 head, which I don't recomment with the M2 Adaptor, way too heavy. Get at least a Bogen 516.

Good direction
Good acting and great dialogues..
U did good job with ur camera...
the only shot which bothered me was ur initial jib shot (establishing) the crane looked shaky....
other than that its a great short and very intrestingly plot... i learn few things aswell... and give my regards to Devesh

Just watched the short... pretty cool!
Great acting... except for a line or two... great editing, and shooting.

Not to be too critical, but i did notice some inconsistancies between some shots in lighting or over lighting. Also time of day changed a bit over the sequence. The only other thing was i noticed the shot where he grabbed his hand, he wasn't wearing his jacket or coat, only the blue undershirt, and the next shot he has his coat on again.

I'm sure it was hot as hell that day... who would want to wear a jacket all day in the hot sun! :p

Pretty good though!!

Thumbs up!
