F35: Preferring F35 over Dragon

F65, Dragon, Alexa all great cameras all capable of delivering powerful artistic stories . Too judge any one camera based on the output of a faith film with no light is beyond me.

Yes the F35 is also a great camera but hitting the ceiling of deliverables . Anyone up for making a CCD in 6k or greater ?

LOL, you have NO idea what you are talking about. I love the endless supply of wedding video geeks who failed as filmmakers that DVX and reduser supply. Yeah you got it dumb-ass, I judged a camera from one film. ??? Grow the F up.

And who cares about delivering useless "4k" footage to someone who doesn't understand that the F35 looks better than ANY 4k camera even still. Screw them (and you)

LOL...yep don't know what I'm talking about this coming from a guy angst ing over a F3 or Amira .

PS. Where did I mention 4k ?

Vince I agree with what you said but I don't appreciate how you said it. Why can't we all be kind on this f35 subforum?

Vince is right - 4k is not a delivery spec I have seen yet and don't plan on seeing it since the most successful films of all time are shot on the alexa which is a 2k camera - and I don't see productions not using that.

but yes Dragon is kind of a let down for me because of how noisy it is - but still - have you seen Age of Adeline? Or Better Call Saul - those both look incredible and shot on dragon.

Even worse than that, Avatar (most successful film of all time last time I checked) was F23 and other 2/3" cameras. Proof, if ever it was needed, that the camera is not especially relevant (but Avatar would not have worked on a 5D!)

after spending a day learning how to color - I now know that that clip was colored poorly - it wasn't the cameras fault - look what Juan can get out of the dragon and scarlet - http://juanmelara.com.au/blog/

it was a classic example of poor skin tone seperation

I'm kind of back to liking the red one mx more - it's not the same as the F35 - but yes we can't just poo-poo every camera - it's all about camera, grading, lenses, filtration, lighting, bla bla bla - but still can't fault the red one mx - I like it more than the red epic and dragon - I don't know why - maybe because it has some grain in the image? Is the motion slightly different? I can't put my finger on it.

Learning how to use dragoncolor2 and redlogfilm correctly with a film print emulsion.

Been really fascinating to learn it all - how to grade better.

Some shots are off - but overall , it's in a good beginning place.
