Precise relaease date for XL2 Pal

Hi everyone,
My first post on here. This forum's really addictive.
Does anyone know a precise release date for the PAL version of the XL2.

Please do let me know.

Canon has not sent an answer. I'm from India. Will have to import the cam...but no clue about the release date of the pal version.
If anyone has an idea please do let me know.

nice meeting you. Well regarding pal xl2 in uk , its going to release in mid october or first week of november. by the by from which country you are importing?

Thanks for the info. Was actually planning to fly down to the UAE to get it. Dubai that is.
by the way...I posted the same message on DV Community and here's what someone wrote

" called last Tuesday Canon Finland and they told me they are getting the first XL2s (PAL version) into the country on Wednesday, and that I should get mine September 27 or 28, i.e. next Monday or Tuesday. So, guess the PAL version is already released (at least I hope so)."

I guess I'll just wait until next week to call Dubai and find out when its coming out. They had earlier told me it was due mid-september.

hi Vamshi,
Canon has a distributor in India. But getting it through Canon in India will prove to cost a bomb in terms of Custom Duty. If I'm not mistaken it'll come up to around $6500.
Thanks for the Singapre link though. Will definately check it out.
