Pre Record and Banding lines when using Toast to transcode

So over the weekend I shot a wedding with two 150s.
My assistant used his camera which has pre-record turned on. No biggie.
I dont use the feature.

I ingested the footage using toast to DVCPRo 720.60p as usual. Well all of his clips from his cards have a second of heavy banding or pixels ... looks messy. I tried to ingest the cards through FCP just to make sure the cards were good. Footage looked fine in ProRes.

So do I go back re ingest the Project ProRes. Kinda of a pain and also takes time but dont want corrupt footage.

Any thoughts on PreRecord and Toast?

yeah i've had the same issue with toast and the pre-record. best to use fcp to ingest if you can.

I find this confusing. I thought pre-record just kept 3 seconds of video in a buffer and when you pressed record the buffer was written to the SDHC card. The fact that it "ingests" differently seems to imply that something odd is going on. Do you see any differences if you just play the files on the camera?

Agreed it's toast and pre record. I actually had one camera shooting with pre record off
so I can 100% account for it. The pre recorded cards play fine in camera
and in FCP log and transfer..... Odd but does not work with toast properly.
