Pre DVXuser HVX sale Good Idea? Maybe

Ok I know this is so far out in left filed and so far away that I should not even post this. But I was talking to some of my buddies that think it is a total waist of time to be on DVXuser and they asked me what the point is. So I told them that besides all the endless knowledge and friends you have here. Sometimes you can find good deals on equipment. Then they asked me if I think that Panasonic would do like a one week presale thing like bands do for members of their mailing lists. Well I told them that would be a cold day in hell, but it got me thinking why not. Instead of a discount or extra battery (now not saying throwing in an extra p2 card wouldn't be nice) why don't they just do like a two week presale so we can get are hands on it first. I mean I realize that this site is in no way connected to Panasonic but they do listen to us and we are their core customers. So just wanted to see what you guys think I don't know maybe Jan can say something but like I said way out in left filed almost to the fence. :thumbsup:
 
Hmm... I wouldn't mind that, but I don't see Panasonic doing that... presales can backfire on sales for people not included in the group. I am sure that Panasonic has bigger clients than this community, and they would also like to make them happy. A presale wouldn't get them more revenue really, so I don't believe it would be beneficial for Panasonic to do that.

Either way, it's always nice to get something we want earlier than everyone else. It makes us feel good... so I suppose customer loyalty from the dvxuser would increase, but this community is already pretty loyal lol
 
However a retailer like EVS could offer us a wait list for the first shipment of HVXs. They give a DVX user discount on the DVX so they might be able to do this for us.

I think EVS is actually doing this for us.. Rush is taking pre-orders.
 
That is true, the pre-order list has grown to great proportions:thumbsup:. I am hoping that this encourages Panasonic to always be forward thinkers, as in the case of the remarkable DVX100/A, when they can see that they have a waiting audience. I for one can't wait to see that DVCPRO-HD in action!
 
Pre-order is also available at Abel Cine Tech (offices in LA and NY). As Rush said, it is certainly the hot topic with us as well. Every other call is in reference to the HVX200 even though it's release date has not been set.
