I'm very much on the fence and I'm not so sure of this as I am extremely pleased with this system, but I may need to sell my PowerMac G5 Quad editing system as I need a Macbook Pro this summer for work and for field productions.
This Quad has been upgraded quite a bit for excellent performance for HD editing. The specs are as follows:
PowerMac G5 Quad
4.5GB DDR2-5300MHz SDRAM
NVIDIA Geforce 6600 w/256MB GDDR SDRAM
74GB 10,000RPM SATA RAPTOR drive - boot drive
500GB 7,2000RPM SATA Hitachi drive - media drive
Decklink HD Extreme PCI-Express capture card
Suffice to say, I love this system, but I need portability this summer for work. I'm on the fence about this, but figured I'd see what interest is out there for this machine. I would rather sell it without the Decklink card (as I will eventually get the new MacPros if this is sold and I can use it then), so let me know if you're interested in the setup without the card. But if you want the card too, let me know ...
Also, there is Applecare on this machine, so that would transfer as well (an extra 3 years of coverage).
Thanks,
Mike
