powering the camera from a wall outlet?

perhaps

i'm sorry if this is completely newbish to ask..

i have read the manual about powering the camera using the battery charger, but i don't have whatever little DC connector-device that they're showing. it simply did not come with my camera.. the piece looks like the battery, but with a thin wire coming out of it (in the drawing).

where can i get this, and how much? do i even need it?? i mean, isn't there some simple kind of convertor that i can stick in the DC input on the camera that goes to my AC outlet? i know it says that the DC input is used for charging but the internal battery, but would it power the thing for use too?

Yep. I almost never use the fake-battery-plate connector. Because I can almost never find the thing when I need it. :) I just use a regular barrel connector.

no i have the AC battery charger itself, i just don't have whatever I need to plug into the camera, so that it can run on my AC wall socket power

ok thanks a lot man. i scoured the manual and it never specified that you could power the cam that way, it only talks about charging the internal battery. that's cool to know

You have to be careful, though, if the camera is moving...or *you* are moving back there...the wire will pull right out. The fake battery plate is better, more secure.
