My buddy & I just got our HVX's. I get mine today , he picked his up last night.
He had an odd problem running direct into his powerbook via firewire.
It seemed to capture fine, but when he closed the log & capture window it tended to crash. Sometimes also when he opened the log & capture window. Often it crashed after capturing when he just left the window to hit save in the browser. Drove him nuts!
It's a 1.67 GHz 17" Powerbook w/1.5Gig RAM running FCP 5.04.
I doubt whether he actually tried a plain old DV capture as a test. He was probably always going HD.
Is this unusual? Any ideas.
The good thing is that he has never lost any footage.
Are there settings he should change in FCP?
