For some reason my DVX charger (when I clip in the power supply converter) will not power my camera when plugged into the 7.9V jack in the back. The charger charges batteries just fine. Is there some setting to change or switch to flip when going from battery power to outlet power?

Do you have a battery in the charger while trying to power the camera?

If so, that won't work. Disconnect your battery and then try powering the camera.
