Power supply gone south?

I just received a new DVXp from B&H in NY and the power supply (which reminds me of consumer cameras) was a dud! The dummy battery would not get power to the camera when connected to the power supply. After faxing Pana tech help, all they could reply with was, are you sure you haven't plugged the dummy battery end in to the charger instead of the camera. No help. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else experienced a similiar problem with their power supplies? I ended up sending it to Video Logic in NJ 201-327-9333. They handle warranty replacement issues. I should be getting a new power supply shortly. And I thought getting a dud Apple Computer was fun! :D

Re: Power supply gone south?

nope no problems here with the power supply.

i never used the dummy battery till just yesterday but it worked fine.

i bought 5 of the $35 dvxuser batteries and those work great too! i have barely used the battery that came with the camera.

Thats good to hear feedback about the $35 batteries. I've been thinking about getting a couple. Thanks.

Re: Power supply gone south?

The only problem I ever had was the issue B&H addressed--I plugged the dummy into the charger & put the ac cord into the camera. Then I realized, oh yeah, opposite way, Smarts.

The AC connector is pretty crappy, but like everyone else, I very rarely find myself using it. B&H is usually pretty good about replacing bad equipment quickly--I'd call them to arrange a replacement.

You got a broken Mac? That's definitely a first. My Mac's have been the only computers I've never had to send back or have a service rep come to my house to replace hard drives/monitors/etc. I LOVE my dual gig G4!
