Power staying on

Just wondering if anyone has experienced their HVX-200 staying powered on even when you have turned it off?

This has been extremely frustrating as I've been shooting in a remote part of the Arctic
where enough battery power was already an issue. The weather has been warm, so I don't think that has anything do with it, the only thing I can think of is that I've been charging batteries with an external powerpack powered by a solar panel. I thought that maybe the batteries obtained some sort of memory from this system.

Any thoughts?
 
There have been some reports of peculiar behavior lately regarding HVXs with similar issues as yours. Mine on a couple of occasions spontaneously went into play mode or switched itself to MCR mode. Others including Barry Green have had much more serious but equally strange issues, and have sent their cams in for repair. I don't know what the outcome was in those cases. Maybe they'll drop in here and let us know.

These cameras are in substantial part computers, so I guess they'll glitch out like them too sometimes.
