Power Save Mode

Just a head's up. If you happen to leave your HMC on, it will completely drain the battery if you give it enough time if you haven't selected Power Save Mode in the menu.

I left mine on after I fully charged the battery, and put it in it's Pelican last night. Today, I reach it to fiddle with it, and it's warm, plus the battery had only about 25 minutes left on it.

I have always removed the battery before storing a camera, I thought this was standard procedure.

I saw that in the menu the other day... Turned mine on also. With this feature, I can't remember how many times i found my sony's off when returning to them... I also read from panny, there is some small drain on the batt. even when off... should remove it when not using.

How long will it stay on before shutting off?

As I mentioned, mine was warm to the touch after being on all night. It showed about 20 minutes left on the large-sized battery that I put on the night before.

Because the LCD screen wasn't open, and I wasn't using the zoom or anything, it was obviously a slower drain than normal. So maybe it was 'on' for about 6 hours?

haha, this happened to me a few weeks ago and I felt like such an idiot. Glad to hear I'm not alone.

However, I hate the power save. That was what pissed me off about the 100a is you couldn't turn it off and right when you were about to start rolling the camera would turn off. Just bad timing I guess, but I'm relieved they made it optional on later builds.
