Power From Bescor Belt Pack?

Hey Folks,

My dealer called and says he has the cam but not the AB batt and adapter/charger.

So, I have a Bescor belt pack that looks like the PRB15XLRNC except it is in the blueish color. I emailed Bescor to ask them if it work, but I thought maybe someone here has tried to use one of the Bescor packs with the 300. I will put a meter on it to verify 12v and which is the hot lead.

Thanks,
Robert A. Ober

Unless your Bescor is wired strangely, it should work fine with the standard 4-pin DC in. The camera is rated to accept between 11V and 17V. Should you feed it less, it won't power up. Should you feed it more, there's a circuit breaker. Shouldn't be a problem. But try at your own risk.

I think the reason more (or any) people aren't using battery belts with this camera is that it just sips power. At 18W consumption, an Anton Bauer Dionic 90 powers mine for about 4 hours; no need for a belt!

Thanks,

Yeah, I have the 90 on order but the cam is in and the batt/charger is not. The Bescor does put 13v on the correct pin. I suppose it can put out enough current to also power my shotgun plugged into the 300.

I originally bought the belt to power the light I use on my XL1 and it hasn't been used all that much. I should shoot more but that's another story.

Have a fun fri,
Robert:-)
Leaving to pickup the 300!
