Power Adaptor issue HELP!

This is got to be the dumbest thing ever... first of all, I hate how HMC150 uses different battery than HPX,HVX,DVX.

Anyway, Battery that came with works fine with my HMC150. Battery charges fine with the charger (or known as AC Adaptor).

When I use the AC adaptor instead of battery, HMC150 reads "This battery can not be used" and turns itself off.

Anyone get this?

I think the problem is in AC cord (cord that goes from Adaptor to HMC150)...

If this is indeed the problem, where can I buy this?

B&H, Amazon, etc. only sell the AC adaptor, not the cord.

Thank you in advance.

Wowww that's quite an issue you have there bud. I have no idea. That really is the dumbest thing ever. Did you just get it?

:bath:

Are you sure you are using the adapter that came with the camera, not a similar looking from your other camera? Panasonic decided to implement the lockout of all the generic power sources, batteries and such. So in order to do that they set the adapter voltage to that very specific voltage level. If you are using another adapter, or yours is defective, it will give you the error you are seeing.

Same thing happened to me. Panasonic quickly checked out the cam and adapter and replaced the latter. Haven't had a problem since they sent it back to me.

Regards

PaulWM, can you tell me how you did that? How do I contact Panasonic?

This cord came with the HMC150 camera. Part Number is K2GJ2DC00022. I found out this is out of stock. There is Substitute part: K2GJ2DC00020 for $10 - $15 I can buy online. I'm not sure if this will work with HMC150 because it says it works with most of Panasonic products. (and says Panasonic HDCSD5 & Panasonic SDRH40)

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I just sent mine back to the Panasonic repair centre (in my case Germany - the depot that covers Europe for the 151).

Your camera is under a Panasonic AVCCAM 3 Year Warranty Program so you have to register your camera at the Panasonic PASS website. You will need to tell them where and when you bought the cam and register the serial number. Once you have done this you can then request a repair. They collect from you and ship it back. It didn't cost me anything.

I was impressed with the speed in which this was done.

It was not the cord that was the problem it was the adapter and, don't buy anything (that may not be compatible anyway), that should be replaced by Panasonic because it was faulty.

Hope it all works out soon for you.
