I'm looking into purchasing a pov cam but can decide on what to get. The new panasonic is too expensive but I also want to match the footage with my Hvx any suggestions of a cheaper route?
 
just bought the gopro hero hd.
love the different frame rates and resolutions it does.
price is right too at under $300

This looks interesting. Thanks for pointing them out.

How does the picture intercut with other cameras, say, HVX200?

Also, it seems strange that at 1080p, the capture angle is 127 degrees, but at 720 it's 170 degrees. Are they just doing a center crop for 1080p images?

not sure why the different widths. My guess is a lot of times with POV's you are very close to the subject and may need the extra width. Other times not so important.
In the wide mode there is just a hint of distortion around the edges. I have not been able to use my cam outside yet for the purpose I bought it, but just testing indoors I am very very happy.
it will accept a 32 gig sdhc card. At 11 minutes per gig that means i can roll for hours and not get too picky about shutting on/off all the time, leaving me more time to shoot with my 170!
