Posting Video on My Website

Hey, guys, I finally decided to start building my company's website. I was wondering, how do people get those "Watch video" templates that has the play button and stop button and rewind and fast forward and stuff. I can simply put the quicktime file on there, but that's boring. What's the best way to do it? Where would you get templates and stuff. I would rather get something for free, but please tell me what you guys know. Thanks!

Yes, it could be that too. Anything. Can anyone help me find out which is the most professional way to carry this out? Thanks!

Hello;
You are referring to 'Flash Player Skins'.
For example, within Macromedia Pro 8:
You'd convert your video to Flash Format, then choose a pre designed 'player skin' or use one of your own (or other) designs. You have many choices with your skin: play, pause, mute, seek, etc.
Macromedia is expensive, but there are many site developers etc. that could do this for you. Or, there may be other flash video creation software out there (just do a search). Sorry I can't be of more specific, but I'm only familiar with Macromedia.
I hope this helped somewhat......Lyn

i just use Quicktime 7, render them out for streaming, and set them up so the toolbar shows at the bottom. i think it looks nice and clean.

i also do the flash players at work for our commercials, and they are nice as well, but for my own stuff, i prefer the Quicktime method.

Do most people have flash installed? I believe Quicktime would be the most used. but is flash dangerous, if a customer would not have it? I don't know...

we use Flash 7 at work, cause we are conservative...i think most people have it, dont know the stats off hand. but its easy to load and most times loads on its own when its needed.

i forgot to mention too that along with my Quicktime files, i put them inside a nice border that i made for them, so that helps as well.

oh ok, thanks guys! that was very helpful.

I have flash pro 8. Does this come with skins already? is it on the software itself?

what you need to do is convert the video file you have to an flv file.

then import that into flash through "import video"

the rest of the way explains each thing in pretty good detail and just pick the ones that are what you want to do with it.

i have a preloader and a main movie file, dont use skins, we have our own, but it lets you pick from MANY different options for a nice looking skin (like what youtube uses)...

this is how i do mine, but nested in a site, not bare like this: http://www.letitslide.net/test1.cfm

I use a few steps to add video on my site here check it out and let me know what you think http://www.lhspfightsrock.com First i transfer the video to my computer then i use sorenson squeeze make it a mp4 file then i use macromedia flash and make a flash movie file the i use coffecup to creat an html code

hey, your stuff looks great. yeh, the easiest thing is to make is a flash video file and then import it in dreamweaver.it looks really nice and clean. Later on I may update to cooler stuff but as for now, it's good enough. Thanks!
