Sushi and beer.. thats just wrong... but sounds better than my day.. spent a good 16 hours on planes trying to get home.. however finally lying on my own bed Valentines Night was the best thing I have felt in 4 weeks.

Three women in my house - I went to buy some roses, only to find out they are THREE times more expensive than usual - and I buy them often, so I know.
20%? - OK. 50%? - oh well. But 200% more? Damn the supply/demand.
Damn my car service dealer, too, who on VD wanted to charge me a thousand bucks for something that required cleaning of a bunch of contacts on a switch. They certainly love my money but not me, and I hate them!
So I got the girls tulips at a very decent price, which left me some change to get them chocolates as well, and take one of them out for a drink later that night. And I didn't buy into the dealer's "you need to replace your X Y and Z", which left me with some change to buy - maybe a 1.6x adapter for my DVX. 8)
On this Valentine's Day, I felt like being cheap.

Gotta be careful with being cheap. I was getting my haircut on valentines day and this female barber next to me got cheap roses from her boyfriend. When I say cheap, I mean the kind that are dying and look like **** with thorns in em.
Not only that, but he only bought six of them. She called him up and asked him how much he spent on them. It got real quiet in the barber shop. A few minutes later he came in with a dozen fresh roses. He was embarrassed, she was embarrassed, and I doubt he got much of anything that night.

well, I only got THREE roses mixed in with some white flowers ( name I don't know but they were spectacular). and the thought did cross my mind, like.."umm, where are the rest?" but I get flowers alot, so fine. pretty frequently I get a random bunch that are definitely not major $$$$, but I would prefer the quantity. everytime I look at them, I get to enjoy the thought..and that's what counts.
that said, I did once get a really cheap looking bunch..and I have yet to forget

In a long, dark, other life...I delivered flowers for a summer. Florists make ALL their money for the rest of the year at valentine's day. If it weren't for valentines' day, they could not keep a staff for the rest of the year because they consistently lose money over the rest of the year.
(also, the floral distributers totally jack up the prices towards february, so you can't blame it all on the retailers)
