Post Rating

OK,

I've been looking everywhere on the site to figure out what this means, so please excuse me if it's posted blatantly somewhere.

"You must have a post rating of at least 50 to rate other posts."

What does this mean? And how does one increase their post rating in order to +1/-1 people's posts?

Many Thanks.

Good question.

I don't know, but I just gave this thread a 4 star rating.

I'll help you increase your post rating if you help me increase mine. Uh, once we figure out how to do it, that is. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Oh snap, I always thought Terry was a mod...

(Had been wondering the same thing about the post ratings. Thanks for clearing it up, Terry!)

what terry said. just been giving it some time with a limited amount of folks to see how things work out. if you aren't a douchebag, and would like to partake, feel free to send me a pm :)

btw, in your profile, you can view your current post rating... which is, how many times your posts have been rated positive since we started trialing this a few weeks ago. there's about 40-50 people using it right now... it's been going pretty well... probably time to increase the sample a bit.

Will take voluntary requests to be grandfathered into the system via private message. Will put you on the list for future consideration. Eventually, once we have a solid base group and a better feel for things, folks will have to rely on the quality of their posts if they wish to partake in the system in the future. Going with the current 50 required post rating as the example, that could mean you had 50 posts rated positive 1 time each... or 1 post rated positive 50 times... or anything inbetween to get you to 50. still working out the numbers and all.

Also, posts that get voted down x times will be auto-collapsed, and will require a manual action on the part of the reader to view those posts. The goal being to eventually begin to thin out some of the fat from threads in certain areas of the forum that would benefit from more productive discussion and less noise... community driven.

Some other functionality planned in the future..

how am i supposed to get a high rating when i'm not knowledgeable enough to help anyone? i mean maybe if there was a sub forum dedicated to armpit farting or weight gain techniques, i might be of some use. could you talk to the other mods to see if that is a possibility? just throwing it out there, no pressure.
