Post-Production Hardware - What's Next?

There are advantages to all OS systems and NLE's. I think everybody would agree:

-Avid has the best Media Management system
-FCP has the best user friendly interface

I have owned Avid suites for many years I too am waiting for them to expire so I can convert rest of my bays to full FCP.

At the same time I am reluctant to let go of all my PC systems as I will keep all After Effects and compositing tools on PC's as I use Boxx systems. There is no MAC that can compare the power or service Boxx computers provide.

Michael is spot on. Mac vs. PC arguments are stupid. There are pro work being done on PC every day by people who are getting paid a lot more than you or me, and they're pretty darn happy with their system.

Sorry, but no they are not. I was a PC user for 15 years, until 4-5 years ago, when I switched to Mac. Before OS X, I didn't much care for Macs, and used them in school sometimes, I wasn't very impressed.

But Mac is a far superior computer system, and to use Windows for projects you trust, I'm sorry, that's just stupidity.
But if it behooves you to be blissfully ignorant of basic computing principles and understanding what makes a good computer, hey, don't let me interrupt you from your miserable experience!

eh, vegas + AE over here. Nothing but good things to say about vista 64 on my dell workstation. I don't like callin people out, but you obviously don't know what your talking about when it comes to PC's, especialy when you start callin everybody who uses them "stupid".
You must of been editing on a Packard bell with win 98 to make you hate PC/windows so much, but hey, its ok, you got your fancy mac pro now + the ego that comes with it.

-Avid has the best Media Management system
-FCP has the best user friendly interface

I disagree. sony vegas has by far, the best/most user friendly UI.
