Possible to get IMDB page before completion?

I've seen films on IMDB who get listed before they are done with production. We are middway through production, and I was curious if it was even possible to get listed before you were done. I just thought it would be cool to give my actors those perks before hand. but I am guessing its probably next to impossible.

Only if you are "famous" in some way...otherwise you have to prove distribution or official screening at a recognized festival or such...if it is on an official schedule at a proper festival, they will post it...

I get my projects pre-listed. But I've been posting to IMDb for a long time and have been approved to list new projects because they trust me. Originally, all you needed was to supply a "miscellaneous link" from a third party. So we would always get our cast interviewed by Backstage West mentioning the new film so the IMDb listing could go up while we were still in pre-pro. I think things have changed now.

For example, I haven't shot this yet. -> http://www.imdb.com/company/co0136779/

I'm assuming you need more than local press (newspapers/tv) to get consideration as well. I've been trying to get something going on bloodydisgusting/fangoria.. but nothing yet.

We've done ours through Variety. Not sure where the link is, but the person responsible is (was) Jeffrey Sneider.

Zak is right, it's like anything else in Hollywood, it can be done, you just have to know the right people ;)

We'll get our film listed just entering pre-production, because the company I'm working with has a number of IMDb credits and the producers can pick up the phone and make it happen. All I had to do was register my script with the WGA to get a number and that apparently is enough combined with him contacting them. They have several other projects also listed as "In Development" but ours probably will just be listed as Pre-Production since it's fully funded now and actually entering that stage within the next two weeks.
