Possible to connect DVX100B to computer or external drive while recording ?

After shooting 6 hours of symposium video with my Panasonic DVX100B, I need to spend another 6 hours to convert all DV tapes to digital files before I can edit it on Adobe Premiere Element 11.
Since I don't need to move around while shooting symposium video, Just wondering if I have the option to connect the DVX100B to an external device such as laptop comupter, hard drive...etc, so that all recorded video immediately saved to the external device as editable files ? At such, I can save tons of my time in coverting DV tapes to files.

Thanks.

connect via firewire and put final cut 7 in non controllable device capture mode and hot record. used to do it all the time

FireStore made the FS-100 which was essentially a hard drive with a firewire input. It is triggered over FireWire, too so it records with your camera.

Thanks.
Any other protable options (like portable hard drive) without laptop computer ?

No, you can't just plug into a hard drive. It has to be a "smart" hard drive, with firmware which allows it to accept and record the DV signal coming over the firewire. People have mentioned the Firestore; it's an option.

Perhaps a better option is Adobe OnLocation, if you have it. It was discontinued in 2012, and its successor, Prelude, can't record a live stream, but OnLoaction can, directly from FireWire.
