When I was checking focus yesterday, using the 5x and 10x button, it occurred to me again, as it has many times in the past: this enlarged image looks very cool. It would be great if the 5DII could capture these images to video. Does anyone know if there is some sort of hack that allows that?

There isn't - you'd need a GH2 for that kind of sensor cropping.

That's true, and now that I think about it the new Nikon FF does 3 different crop sizes.
