Hey DVX friends,
I think I've found a *new* bitrate hack for the GH2. If this works (and I've already tested it on my handycam), but if this works for the GH2, it means G3 owners will be able to get their reward in heaven with an increased bitrate for their camera too.
Windows MovieMaker is without a doubt, the worst editing program ever, however, it comes with one secret advantage: it allows you to export your movies in virtually any bitrate you want, up to 1080 mbps.
I've tested this hack on my Panasonic TM200 budget Camcorder, and the results looked magnificent.
I've put a diagram below showing you how I figured it out how to hack it.
The idea being that you shoot your movie on your DSLR or mirrorless camera, then run the clips through MovieMaker (to max out the bitrate) and then 3), import all your clips in FCP (to edit and finish as you normally would).
As I don't own a GH2, but I want someone reading this forum to shoot a 10 second clip on your GH2 or G3 and then follow the steps in my diagram (by importing your GH2/G3 footage through MovieMaker) and then tell me what the footage looks like afterwards by posting a still.
The first person to do this experiment for me, will receive an Executive Producer credit (and chance to collaborate with me on my feature film The Perfect Scholar).

Okay, oh and if I'm wrong with this theory (I only know it works on my handycam), then I apologise in advance.
