Possible 1080p 50p/60p slow-motion workflow for PIX240?

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if this would this work as a possible 1080p slow-motion workflow for the F3 using the PIX240?

- Connect PIX240 via HD-SDI monitoring output
- Record overcranked (50p/60p) 720p25 to internal camera media
- Playback the footage on the camera
- Record the playback on the PIX with upscaling from 720p25 to 1080p25

Obviously you're not getting native 1080p resolution, and I assume you'd only be getting 4:2:0 colour information, but would this workflow work for having slow-motion 1080p footage to blend with the rest of your standard speed 1080p footage?

I don't know if the F3 will upscale 720 to 1080 or if the PIX will do it, but why not just record to PIX240 via HD-SDI port then dump to computer and do a post zoom of 50% to bring 720p up to 1080p? This is how I'm doing it, but perhaps you are trying to skip having to go through a computer to do it.

Also by using your computer your 60p/50p footage would go frame-for-frame to a 25p timeline yielding 2.4x/2x slow motion respectively.

***Edit: I just checked and the pix240 does offer upscaling from various resolutions, so YES what you're asking would work providing your using the same frame rate. If frame rates are different I doubt the PIX will handle it.
