the sound is atrocious.

that is all I could think about watching the trailer.. that and the stolen music from Requiem for a Dream. Better sound trumps even the best looking films and can make the worst looking something easier to swallow.

Yea, the sound is pretty bad dude and the trailer isn't paced well, even though there's some decent shot. Too much Magic Bullet. Plus using Requiem for a Dream as a background song simply screams "student filmmakers!!" You didn't even edit to the song, it was just droning on in the background. Too bad, from the poster and the stills I was expecting something more polished.

As true as the others' comments are, you're doing much better than I did at your age. Keep going.

When people notice a song that's clearly ripped from the original soundtrack of a previous movie, it really harms its integrity.

Your animated titles look pretty good, but I think that's working against you a bit by making the rest of the movie look worse by comparison. An attractive 3D production logo is followed by poorly lit footage with bad audio? You're going to confuse the audience.

Really though, don't let any of this discourage you. You'll need to accept that a lot of people aren't going to like anything you do until you get better at it, I've dealt with quite a bit of that.
