Poor Man's Steadycam

Build one. You can build it of any material, as long as it holds the dvx safely. Some people say it works, some people say this is just complete rubbish. I guess it takes some training, but it DOES stabilize the picture to a certain degree. Although in the demonstrations, he uses quite a lot of wide-angle, which kind-of eliminates shake.

Go ahead and build! :)

ya, doesnt really do anything.

just strap your camera to a tripod, and carry the tripod around. same diff.

Yea, I haven't found it extremely effective. The tripod idea does just about the same, in all reality. But I've customized that design to create something more like handles, in which you make an upside-down U with piping, and then drill a hole through the middle of the pipe and put the screw and bolts through it, so you have a mount in the middle of the you, and then handles underneath to guide the camera like a bycicle. You'll need a big wood base mount or else you'll probably damage the tripod mount on your camera, but that's not too had to achieve.

Yea I always just hold the tripod by its neck and I get real good looking results, might not be hollywood material but it's pretty good.
