Poor Mack Customer Service

The handle zoom in and record button on my DVX100 has not worked properly since I bought it. I got the international warranty as a precaution. I live in Australia and have contacted Mack warranty 3 times to arrange an authorisation for service. I received an automatic reply from the first one saying the contact person is on extended leave (didn't say when they'd be back) and attempts to contact other personnel have been ignored. I need to get the camera fixed soon and I'm pretty pissed off. Has anyone else found Mack's customer service unsatisfactory?

:(

I fortunately have not had to use them (I'm knockin on my wood) but cannot believe that in Australia you have to go through Mack.

What a world, what a world.

Re: Poor Mack Customer Service

I also had interesting situation with Mack. I bought my DVX with 0 hour on it used in Mintcondition. I wanted to transfer the ownership and contacted Mack 4 times including the origial owner contacting them as well no response....

This is lame.
The warranty was transferable. Fortunatly mine has worked fine but this is unacceptable.
I think all of us Mack warranty people should find out "what's the deal..eh?"

Is is Panasonic that has this responsiblity? Meaning, is MACK the authorized service provider used by PANI?

Re: Poor Mack Customer Service

I called Panasonic in Australia but they don't dea lwith profesisonal gear. They told me to call a company called Rexel, the official distributor of Panasonic professional cameras. They told me they never even heard of Mack (as did Panasonic) and would not recognise their warranty.

Re: Poor Mack Customer Service

yeah Mack is a private company, its basically like buying life insurance but for your camera.
